XHTML

• XHTML is a reformulation of HTML as strict XML

  • Tags must be closed

  • Attribute values must be quoted

  • <br/> instead of <br>

  • etc.

• Includes three DTDs for HTML:

  • Strict

  • Transitional

  • Frameset

• What if we can use one of those DTDs instead of inventing our own?
