The Gnome Project has released version 2.6.16 of libxml2, the open source XML C library for Gnome. This release fixes various bugs.

Sun's released version 1.5 of the Java Web Services Developer Pack. This release adds "XML Web Services Security, a preview of the Sun Java Streaming XML Parser based on JSR 173, as well as updates to existing web services technologies previously released in the Java WSDP." This should all run in Java 1.4 and later.
